At last 1.0pre8 is out. It has been a long time since 1.0pre7 was released. Quite frankly, I was worried that development might have been stopped, stalled etc. I'm really happy this excellent piece of software is alive and kicking. The changelog since pre7 is just huge. I've already upgraded all the boxes I use mplayer on. My thanks and respect to Mplayer developers.
I decided to try building a new browser the other day. The browser I have been using for over 4 months has been working great, but 4 months is pretty old, so I thought updating it would be a good idea.
Unfortunately Seamonkey developers stopped updating the snapshot directory on their ftp site, so the only way to get the latest source is via CVS.
Their website is recommending the following way to do that:
$ cvs -d :pserver:anonymous@cvs-mirror.mozilla.org:/cvsroot co mozilla/client.mk
$ cd mozilla
$ gmake -f client.mk checkout MOZ_CO_PROJECT=suite
After reading some documentation about how bad it can be sometimes to have Nagle algorithm enabled on a socket, which is used to connect to an Oracle database, I was trying to find whether or not my Oracle client library was doing it by default. After some research on the Internet I could find pretty much nothing about how to find it out. The best I could find were some articles about what Nagle algorithm is.
After a couple of hours of playing around I realized that there is no such command I can run to see this flag on an established socket.
